What was it Plutarch said? "Fate leads him who follows it, and drags him who resists."

[He takes a moment to remove his glasses, cleaning off a smudge.]

See, the Greeks viewed fate as inescapable. Our lives laid out as thread by the Moirai, the three sisters, measured and cut regardless of what we chose to do.

[A slight pause as he replaces the glasses, and a slight, mirthless smile.]

I've always defied the fate that has been assigned to me. Time and again, people have laid out my thread and tried to cut it, ever since I was a kid.

Even if it's real, I refuse to be measured by the small. Those with petty minds and foolish ambitions. So if you're going to do this, really do this - remember you won't be the one making the decisions. Not really.

I'll make my own thread is this new, wider universe, thanks.

Oh look who it is. Its you. Why did you leave me mun? It's been years since we last talked and you traded me for some guy who travels though space and time in a box. How does he even fit in there? Not to mention the controls.

Regardless, you left me with another emotional scarring backstory. Do you care? Perry The Platypus would.

And what do you mean you're disappointed in me that I'm ~evil~ again.

And really should destroy you.

[ The young woman sitting on the bench is wet and bedraggled, with deep bags under her eyes and bruises marking her face. Spent of ferocity, she gazes up at the unseen player with sour resignation. ]

Yavin was already bad enough, [ she says, just managing to put some venom into her hoarse voice. ] Now you've dragged me here to... what, exactly? Make friends?

[ Her lips twitch up but her eyes remain hard. ]

Don't say it. That isn't— [ 'That isn't what Luthen meant,' is what she had intended to say, but the name sticks in her throat. She purses her lips. ] It isn't yours to say.
